# StewardsIQ.com Concept Note

## Working title
StewardsIQ.com: an urgency-first crisis navigator and verified sponsor network for Americans facing financial hardship

## Problem
Americans in financial crisis rarely face one isolated problem. Hunger, rent pressure, lost income, missed medications, and benefit paperwork tend to hit at the same time. Most systems ask people in crisis to complete long intake flows before they get help, which is exactly when they have the least time, phone battery, attention, transportation, and trust.

## Target users
- Senior citizens who need food, medication access, scam-aware support, and caregiver-friendly workflows
- Homeless or housing-unstable households that need safety tonight, document recovery, transport, and outreach coordination
- Low-income or no-income households that need food, rent or utility help, income replacement, and benefit continuity

## Solution
StewardsIQ.com is a low-cost digital front door that starts with one question: what has to happen before tonight? The product triages by urgency, segment, and top need, then produces a simple action plan with trusted routes, prep steps, and bounded helper actions. It also includes a helper rail where supporters can fund or fulfill verified needs without exposing households to an unmoderated public marketplace.

## Core product
- Urgency-first triage for `Right now`, `This week`, `This month`, and `Recovery`
- Household lanes for seniors, homeless households, and low-income families
- Need lanes for food, shelter, rent or bills, lost income, and health or prescriptions
- Verified sponsor opportunities for money, time, goods, and short-term household sponsorship
- Mission-safe pricing: free for households, paid for supporters and institutional partners

## Why this can work
The tool does not need deep state-system integrations to create value. It can launch as a lightweight navigator that routes people to trusted resources such as 211, USAGov, HUD housing counseling, CareerOneStop, and HRSA health centers. That keeps the build cheap while still reducing time-to-help and administrative burden.

## Revenue model
- Free for households in need
- Optional supporter membership for recurring donors and community sponsors
- Paid partner dashboards for nonprofits, libraries, clinics, churches, housing counselors, and public agencies

## Pilot approach
Pilot first with one or two trusted intermediaries in a single metro or state corridor:
- a library system or community action agency
- a housing or homelessness partner
- a senior-serving nonprofit or faith network

Success metrics for a pilot:
- time from intake to first useful action
- number of households reaching a verified resource in 24 hours
- number of sponsor-funded needs completed
- benefit continuity or crisis-resolution rate for repeat users

## Funding path
Near-term founder and funding lanes to pursue as of April 9, 2026:
- Blue Ridge Labs Founder Fellowship
- AWS Imagine Grant, ideally through a nonprofit partner or fiscal sponsor
- HUD ROSS Rapid Response partnership route

## Immediate ask
Support is needed for:
- one pilot partner
- light product development and design
- community verification workflow design
- initial grant and fellowship applications
